CRMCs Surgical Services
Operating Room The facilitys staff is
comprised of RNs, certified surgical technicians, anesthesia technicians,
surgical support aides, perfusionists, certified registered nurse anesthetists
(CRNA), secretaries, and a waiting-room nurse and performs 550-600 surgical
procedures a month. Two emergency call teams, one for general surgery and one for heart and back up, as well as an open-heart perfusionist, are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The call teams also are certified in trauma care and assist when needed with trauma patients in the Emergency Room. CRMCs Operating Room equipment is so state-of-the-art that people who come from large medical centers and metropolitan areas like Chicago and Los Angeles are amazed at its tremendously high quality, the director of Surgical Services, said. Our CRMC Administration has seen that we have the best in order to give outstanding patient care. It has also helped in recruiting high-caliber employees and physicians to the area. Anesthesia Surgical Scheduling Sterile Processing Same Day Surgery She said, Its very fast-paced and the staff is high-energy, caring for 30 to 40 patients a day. SDS has 16 beds, which accounts for a rapid turnover. PACU/Pain Clinic PACU is a high-stress area, and our nurses are experts in airway management and drug interactions, especially anesthesia drugs, she said. CRMCs Pain Clinic sees patients on Wednesdays when staff members assist physicians with analgesic procedures for patients. Surgical Services also offers a six-month Operating Room training program for registered nurses wishing to specialize in operating room nursing. Nurses come from across the nation to learn the skills required, then commit to stay at CRMC for two years. |
