Pastoral Care Vision Statement

“Grounded in our faith, the vision of the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Pastoral Care  Department is to promote compassionate and competent care of the whole person, shaped by the faith, spirit and values of the individual.”

For quiet meditation and solace, people of all faiths are welcome to visit the Chapel or the Meditation Room.

To reach a Chaplain 24 hours a day, call the hospital operator and ask to have the on-call chaplain paged.

The Pastoral Care staff, representing a range of religious affiliations, is available to help with emotional and spiritual needs which can accompany illness

Chaplains provide compassionate spiritual support, spiritual strength and encouragement, as well as comfort and consolation to patients, family, friends and hospital staff.

They are available to discuss spiritual values, ethical issues, and moral dilemmas. A Chaplain may assist you in interpreting the meaning of your illness and its effect on your spiritual life.

Chaplains are clinically trained professionals who are available to help you think through treatment options when moral or religious questions arise. They are trained to provide spiritual help and are familiar with most world religions, our Chaplains maintain a working relationship with all local churches.

The Meditation Chapel at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center–West is on the sixth floor, (the information kiosk will provide a map if you request "chapel") and is open for 24-hour a day prayer and meditation. The Chapel at the East Building is on the main floor, south wing. A Sunday interfaith Chapel Service is held in the CRMC-East Chapel at 1 p.m. For quiet meditation and solace, people of all faiths are welcome to visit the Chapel/Meditation Room.

A Chaplain is available to minister to your spiritual needs, 24 hours a day (Call operators and ask to page the  on call Chaplain.) Chaplains routinely visit patients between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily.

Pastoral Counseling is also offered for patients and families by appointment . Call or ask your nurse to call the Pastoral Care Department for an appointment. Support groups are offered as the need arises.

If you wish, the Chaplain will call your parish priest, minister or rabbi, or you may have the nurse page the chaplain.
